Engaging in Professional Development assists educators in the improvement of the many skills and techniques that are required for effective teaching. Participating in Professional Development ensures that teachers are constantly growing alongside proven practices so they can enhance the professional community.
During my student teaching semester, my first experience with Professional Development was at the site of my internship as well as in an online course known as EduHero. Here, I completed eight credit hours of Professional Development while also gaining the knowledge from the various training modules. These sessions included Dyslexia Awareness and Drug Prevention. These online courses helped me obtain skills necessary to keep students safe in the learning community.
